FAQs

Kings Pro Movers
  • How far in advance should I book my move?

We recommend scheduling your move 4-6 weeks ahead of time, particularly during high-demand periods such as summer months or around major holidays. Booking early ensures you can reserve your desired moving date and allows adequate time for proper planning and preparation.
  • How is the cost of my move calculated?

The cost of your move depends on multiple factors including the distance traveled, volume of items being moved, number of movers required, and any additional services such as packing or special handling for valuable belongings. Local moves are typically charged on an hourly basis, while long-distance relocations are generally calculated based on total weight and mileage.
  • Do movers pack everything, or should I do some packing myself?

We offer both full-service packing and partial service options. Our team can pack your entire household for an additional fee, or you may choose to pack your belongings yourself while we handle the loading, transportation, and unloading. For specialty items such as antiques or delicate electronics, we recommend allowing our trained professionals to manage the packing.
  • Are my belongings insured during the move?

Basic liability coverage is typically included with moving services, though this provides limited protection. For more comprehensive coverage, we can discuss additional insurance options with you, or you may wish to obtain moving insurance through a third-party insurance provider.
  • What items can't movers transport?

We are unable to transport hazardous materials including gasoline, propane tanks, paint, and chemical substances. Additionally, perishable food items, plants, and certain valuables such as cash or critical documents cannot be moved. Please consult with us regarding any specific items you have questions about.
  • What should I do to prepare for moving day?

Ensure all items are packed and clearly labeled with their intended room location. Create clear pathways at both your current and new residence to facilitate efficient moving. Maintain an inventory of your belongings and keep essential items such as medications or important documents in a separate, easily accessible bag.
  • How can I make my move more affordable?

You can reduce moving costs by decluttering beforehand and transporting only necessary items. Consider scheduling your move on a weekday or during off-peak seasons such as fall or winter when rates may be more competitive. Handling your own packing can also lower expenses, and obtaining multiple quotes from different moving companies allows for price comparison.
